Country Hills Animal Health provides a wide range of corrective surgical procedures, which are administered by highly trained, competent veterinarians with an average of more than 20 years of clinical experience.
We are also aware of the importance of animal welfare and the humane treatment of the animals we are performing procedures on.
The surgical or corrective procedures we provide include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Abdominal exploratory surgery
- Claw removal (removal of the third phalanx)
- Displaced abomasum
- Fracture repair
- Laceration repair
- Ocular enucleation
- Skin scrapings
- Soft tissue lump removal
- Teat surgery
- Uterine torsion correction
Our goal is to have a positive financial impact on your dairy. With this in mind, we discuss possible options when confronted with a surgical situation to insure the best possible outcome for the client and the patient. The adage of “a chance to cut is a chance to cure” may not be in the client’s best interest.
Surgical procedures are performed using clean, aseptic techniques to minimize any risk of postsurgical problems with infection. Surgeries are largely done on farm with follow up care provided by either the dairy client or doctor, as needed, using standard aftercare procedures established on the individual dairies.
